So your website is launched. Well done! That’s a big step for anyone to take.

Let’s take things a step further now, starting with a question. How would you like to have an army of people promoting your eBook for you? And how would you like them to do it for free unless they sold a copy? Well, it’s not a pipe dream, it’s a reality, and it comes to you courtesy of the website ClickBank.

Selling eBooks on ClickBank has given a lot of eBook writers the chance to vastly increase their sales with over 100,000 affiliates looking for quality products to promote.

SO WHAT IS CLICKBANK?

ClickBank is a website that brings authors and affiliates together. For example, we know that authors can join the site in the hope that affiliate members may want to promote and earn from their book.

But for affiliates (for whom registration is free) there is the chance to make a big income from promoting other people’s products. And because everything in between is handled by ClickBank, there is no problem in trying to handle paperwork or transactions.

And that is worth the small fee that authors will pay to take advantage of this chance to increase their sales. The site is also very well thought out, and if there is one thing that really stands out, it’s the help that is offered.

There are plenty of FAQ sections and resources for both affiliates and sellers on the site, and that makes it very useful to both. There is no doubting the professionalism of this company, and that is obvious from the fact that most people online will have heard of the name ClickBank from one source or another.

Are you getting curious? Let’s find out a little about how it all works.

If you want 100,000 affiliates to sell your eBook you should consider ClickBank. ClickBank is considered one of the largest network of affiliates, and certainly one of the easiest to sign up for and to use. If you find the below information interesting you should download the FREE 110-page abridged version of our new Work From Home Writing, Publishing & Selling EBooks using the link at the bottom of the article.

According to ClickBank, “ClickBank is the online retail outlet for 10,000 digital product publishers and their 100,000 active affiliates. We’ve paid our clients on time, every time, for 10 years. Over $1 billion thus far. Now with weekly payouts!” ClickBank is one of the topic networks for publishers and affiliates. I use ClickBank for my published products, and it is a great tool for assisting with planning your next product.
Go to ClickBank and look in the Marketplace (top of page navigation bar) and perform a search on the topics you are considering. The default “Sort By” is Popularity, but you want to change this to Gravity.

The Gravity calculation is not published, but the higher the number, the more affiliates are making sales. ClickBank’s definition of Gravity is “Number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher’s products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks we add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.” For a detailed video on Gravity check this out.

Look for products found on the first couple of pages in ClickBank’s search result listings with a low refund rate and high referral percentage. You can determine a product’s refund rate by looking at a products sale price (you may need to click on the link and go to the landing page) and look at the “Earned Per Sale” amount. The difference is due to ClickBank subtracting refunds and chargebacks.

So for a product with a sales price of $39.00 and a commission of 75% the total commission, it looks like this:

ClickBank Fee (7.5% of purchase price + $1) = $3.93

Sale Price ($39) – ClickBank Fee ($3.93) = $35.07

Affiliate Commission ($35.07 * 0.75) = $26.30

If the “Earned Per Sale” for the above product is $23.45, then the refund and chargeback rate can be calculated as:

Affiliate Commission – Earned Per Sale = $2.85

Refund Rate = $2.85/$26.30 = 10.8%

So the refund/chargeback rate for this product is 10.8%. This is subject to the publisher promoting only one product with this account. The numbers will be skewed if the publisher promotes more than one product with more than one sales price.
