One of the great things about ClickBank is that you only pay that joining fee once. Currently, it is set at $49.95, and is promoted as an activation fee to open your account.

But you don’t even need to pay that until you have gone through the process of getting that first product up and running on ClickBank. There are a number of steps that need to be followed properly, and it is highly advisable to read through all the terms, conditions and frequently asked questions (FAQs) that the site offers.

Not only will this ensure you understand everything before you sign up, but it will prevent delays in getting your eBook online and visible through ClickBank itself. For example, if you were planning on writing a book about making money via promoting through social networking websites, you’ll need to give ClickBank a miss as they don’t allow them. In reality though there are very few exceptions, and most of them are obvious when you think about it.

That’s one very important point to remember though – ClickBank will vet every product you submit for inclusion on the site, so there’s no getting around the rules. You will need to submit your eBook and wait for their approval before it is included on the site. If there is something they don’t like, or a rule you have tripped up on, you’ll be able to amend it before continuing.

On the ClickBank site, they state that you need a pitch page. That’s simply another term for a sales page, so we’ve covered that already. All you need to do is to make sure it meets all their requirements.

One thing you should note is that if you are going to use ClickBank to help you make more sales, your payment link will go through their website. So if you were planning to link it up to PayPal, you won’t need to, because ClickBank will step in with their secure server instead. This is so they can monitor who sends the customers to your site, and who makes the sales for you.

There are certain requirements made by ClickBank that have to be on that sales page, so make sure they are all included. They are all quite simple though, such as the need to make it crystal clear how much the customer has to pay to receive your product. Simple, huh? Be sure you check the ClickBank website to see exactly what is required.

You should be able to write your sales page and then tweak it if necessary though; there’s nothing much to worry about there.

And once they have given you the nod on your first eBook, you pay your fee and off you go. And don’t forget that you can put every single one of your future eBooks on the site as well, provided that the eBooks meet ClickBank’s terms and conditions.

Make sure you promote the fact that people can sell your eBook and receive a cut of the proceeds too. If you have a blog, you’ll certainly be mentioning the fact that you are going to launch your latest (or first) eBook on ClickBank. So why not mention that your readers can sell it too?

Once you have set up your product and received product approval you should create another account that you will use for your affiliate links. The first thing you want to do is use your affiliate account to create an affiliate link to your eBook landing page. Click on your affiliate link and purchase your own eBook. This is the same as someone else buying your eBook, but when you do it immediately after product approval your eBook will be listed in the ClickBank Market Place and it will have a gravity of 1. There isn’t enough space to cover all the great tips about how to sell successfully through ClickBank, so consider ClickBank Publisher Super Tips from ClickBank Guru Harvey Segal.

And don’t forget that in chapter fourteen, we’ll be exploring lots of ways to promote your eBook. Why not promote the affiliate opportunity as well? All you need to do is send them to ClickBank to sign up for free, and they can get started straightaway.
